Serenity and simplicity of Zen is a antidote to all that is excessive and formal. This is a shift in the way we look at things and care about our surroundings
There are 3 Zen inspired bedrooms to choose from, with traditional low tatami reed mats and pure cotton futons.
The bedroom is where we slip into the shadows of sleep, our “I” can dissolve into emptiness. It is a very simple room where you can genuinely feel close to the Zen way.
The futons can be folded away in the day to provide your own meditative, reflective space. A simple cut flow in a vase offers a possible subject to practice meditation
One moon shows in every pool, in every pool the one moon
The moon room , with its own private entrance at the top of the stairs leading from Mandela hall in the Matara centre.
This is an intimate cosy attic room with exposed oak beams and sky lights. Choose from the bookshelf a selection of wellbeing and meditative books. There is a alcove writing desk that provides space and privacy.
The whole moon and the entire sky are reflected in one dew drop on the grass
Dogen.
This was our former well being room. The Rikie master said the healing energy in this room is perfect.
This is a large room that can accommodate 2 to 4 people. Lots of room to spread out and relax.
You will enjoy the skylights at night and the multitude of stars on clear nights In this attic suite with exposed oak beams.
There is nothing you can see that is not a flower; there is nothing you can think that is not the moon.
This attic room was our meditation room for the past two years. The sun rises directly though the east facing window. The room feels intimate and safe.
